Point32Health Named Recipient of ACHE of Massachusetts’ 2022 Diversity Award

Boston Mass., (November 1, 2022) The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of Massachusetts today announced that it has named Point32Health, the parent company of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, the recipient of its annual Diversity Award.

Recognizing the hard work and focus that health care organizations are putting into meeting diversity, inclusion and equity goals and initiatives, ACHE of Massachusetts annually presents an award to recognize achievements and innovations in this critical area of healthcare delivery.

This year, seven organizations were competing and evaluated on metrics with regard to collection and use of diversity data, cultural competency training, diversity in governance and leadership, improving and strengthening community partnerships, inclusive health/wellness resources, and incorporation of DEI lens into other business areas (e.g. supplier diversity, investment portfolio etc.)

In recognition of Point32Health’s outstanding commitment to equality and humanity in the pursuit of healthcare excellence, this year’s Diversity Award was presented live on Tuesday, November 1st at the ACHE of Massachusetts Annual Meeting.

In her remarks honoring Point32Health, Carmen Kenrich, chair of ACHE of Massachusetts’ Diversity and Inclusion Committee, stated: “Massachusetts is the capital of healthcare delivery. We have the best of the best for clinical expertise and delivery. Today, I am honored to be part of a team highlighting and recognizing an organization that is leading the industry with its commitment to DE&I initiatives positively impacting their employees and the communities they serve. We are all learning on a daily basis how we can do better to serve all of our community members- Point32Health is demonstrating how their core values are embedded in their daily efforts and strategy.”

“We are incredibly honored to be the recipient of the ACHE of Massachusetts Diversity Award,” said Javier Barrientos, chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer at Point32Health.  “Diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility and health equity are core business practices at Point32Health and we know that we achieve our greatest success when colleagues bring their authentic selves to work, creating a culture that is made stronger by our differences.  Point32Health’s diverse workforce allows us to attract the best talent, spurs innovation and connects us closer to our members and communities we are honored to serve.”
