POSTPONED: Spring Conference: Reenvisioning Healthcare

May 1, 2020 @ 7:00 am - 1:00 pm

After serious discussion at our MA Chapter Board Meeting on March 8, we have decided to postpone all ACHE of Massachusetts Chapter events through May as healthcare organizations manage the coronavirus. We plan to reschedule the May 1, 2020 conference in the Fall. If you have already registered for the conference, we will refund your registration fee on the card you used over the next week or so.

Also, we heard from some of you that our May 1st conference speakers did not reflect the Chapter’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Thank you for reaching out to us, and we agree. The panel of speakers should have been more representative of our Chapter’s membership and aligned with where we want to be as a Chapter and as an organization. We apologize for not having been more thoughtful about our full membership’s perspective in this area. Our Program Committee will be redoubling their efforts on a revamped roster of speakers for our Fall event and are committed to ensuring all of our future events are more inclusive.

Furthermore, while we have begun to receive nominations for our 2nd annual Diversity and Inclusion Award, we will postpone the process as the award will be given out at our Fall Conference on October 21st. We applaud you for the work your organizations are doing in their commitment to creating a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions as to the nomination process.

Regards,
John Fogarty, FACHE
ACHE of MA President

Healthcare costs in the United States have grown at an astounding rate:

  • 50 years ago, we spent approximately $400 Billion (in 2018 dollars) — or $1,800 dollars per person.
  • Today we spend over $3.6 Trillion – or $11,172 per person.

Our Spring conference will focus on innovation, technology and those people and organizations that are swimming against the tide, disrupting our healthcare delivery infrastructure in an effort to improve access, quality, service and safety, while at the same time working to bend the cost curve.

Join us for another exhilarating and informative discussion that will help you position yourself and your organization so that you don’t get left behind in the new, fast-moving world of healthcare.
