ACHE of Massachusetts Celebrates Black History Month

Throughout February, we will share prominent stories of black healthcare leaders and what organizations around the state are doing to lift up the voices of leaders of color.

Meet Deidre “Dee” Smith, MHSA
NAHSE Greater Boston- Founder/Chapter President

Deidre “Dee” Smith is a young health care professional who recently graduated from the Health Services Administration master’s program at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Deidre has worked in healthcare for over seven years across top healthcare systems and organizations. She has a proven track record of improving patient access and scheduling models. Deidre currently works as a Federal Policy Analyst for the Executive Office of Health and Human Services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Before her current role, she served as an Administrative Resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Needham and Milton Hospital, Part of Beth Israel Lahey Health. Deidre is the Chapter President and Founder of the National Association of Health Services Executives- Greater Boston Chapter. Also, she is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) is a non-profit association founded in 1968 to promote the advancement and development of black healthcare leaders and elevate the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities. The Greater Boston Chapter of NAHSE was chartered on March 22, 2020, to lead and expand this
mission across Massachusetts and neighboring states. Since its inception, they have begun providing a platform where leaders of color can collaborate, voice, design, network, and volunteer in the
communities they serve.
